Follow work on a task board
Ask the agent for a task board, read it on the Desk, and see what changed since you last looked.
A task board shows the tasks in a workspace as lanes of cards, so you can see what is waiting on whom at a glance.
When to use this
- You track tasks, cases or follow-ups in a workspace and want one view of where each one stands.
- You want to see what moved since your last visit without reading every task.
Before you begin
- A workspace with tasks in it, and at least the Reader role on it. To mark tasks done or add tasks, you need Writer.
Build a board
- On Home, ask the agent for a board, for example: "Make a task board for Client onboarding, tagged by client."
- The agent asks once before it saves the board.
- The board opens on the Desk. Find it again later under Reports, or from the workspace.
A saved board stays live: it refreshes with the current tasks.
Read the board
- Cards sit in lanes: To do, In progress, Waiting and Done. Figures above the lanes count what is overdue and what was done this week.
- A card shows its due date, an overdue badge when it is late, and a tag such as its client or owner.
- Click a card to read the task in the same Desk tab. Choose Ask about this to ask the agent about it.
- Use Add task, Refresh and Open the task list from the board itself. Mark done on a card saves the change to that task.
- On a phone or a narrow Desk, the board shows one lane at a time under a status switch.
See what changed
When you open a saved board, each card that moved, was added or was updated since your last visit carries a dot and a line saying what happened. Choose Show only changes to narrow the board to them. Opening a card clears its mark.
If something fails
- An older board does not refresh — ask the agent to save the board again. It saves as a live board.
- You cannot mark a task done — your role on that workspace is Reader. Ask a workspace admin for Writer access.
